Peace Flower | Full Bloom Project

LubaKPortraits (1 of 6).JPG

Life is a miracle
Don't let it slip away,
Open your heart to others
Give of yourself each day.

See the beauty in everyone
Regardless of where they've been,
Some have a difficult journey
And really need a friend.

Share your gifts and talents
Listen with your heart.
Do the things you dream about
But don't have time to start.

Pick a bouquet of flowers
Show someone that you care,
Be gracious and forgiving
Life is never fair.

Hold on to your courage
You may need it down the road,
We all have a cross to bear
It could be a heavy load.

If you practice all these things
No matter where you roam,
You may find both sun and rain
But you'll never feel alone!

The Beauty of a Woman

The beauty of a woman
is in the poems she's wrote,
the dreams she's weaved
and all the stories she's told.

The beauty of a woman
is in the adventures she's taken,
the lives she's touched
and all the minds she's awakened.

The beauty of a woman
is in the caring she gives,
the sincerity in her laughter,
and the passion in her griefs.

It's not the expensive clothes she owns,
her body size, the diamonds she's worn.
Measure not the beauty of woman in gold,
for the beauty of a woman is reflected in her soul.

Freedom Flower | Full Bloom Project

I’m going to live like I’ve always dreamed

I’m going to love the things I’ve never seen

I’m going to live like I’ve been redeemed

Each day’s a new start

It’s the beginning

Finding joy in simple things

Time to enjoy what today might bring

This is my joy ride

Freedom in Christ

I gladly suffer with Him

For what He sacrificed

Victory over strongholds

Will be mine if I stand firm

In God’s mighty truths

His Word affirms

Peace deep within

Being bold in Him

Is not a sin

I’m going to live like I’ve always dreamed

I’m going to love the things I’ve never seen

I’m going to live like I’ve been redeemed

This is my journey

Freedom in Christ

I rejoice in suffering

His self-less sacrifice

“She is a rare soul, she has this infectious energy that makes you want to run next to her, she belonged to no one but herself & to anyone that was yet understand themselves, found the missing pieces in her presence.”

Luba Kochubey Portraits

Be still,—be still!
Midnight’s arch is broken
In thy ceaseless ripples.
Dark and cold below them
Runs the troubled water,—
Only on its bosom,
Shimmering and trembling,
Doth the glinted star-shine
                  Sparkle and cease.

Be still,—be still!
Boundless truth is shattered
On thy hurrying current.
Rest, with face uplifted,
Calm, serenely quiet;
Drink the deathless beauty—
Thrills of love and wonder
Sinking, shining, star-like;
Till the mirrored heaven
Hollow down within thee
Holy deeps unfathomed,
Where far thoughts go floating,
And low voices wander
              Whispering peace.

Wild Flower | Full Bloom Project

sumner senior session

free spirit

She is a free spirit rebellious and wild changing so quickly – no longer a child.
Determined, impulsive, she gets into fights
She wants independence and quotes me her rights.

She is a free spirit now spreading her wings
In search of adventure and trying new things.
She sees the horizon that beckons from far;
Relies on the guidance of her lucky star.

But when the experience starts fading away
She finds disillusion obstructing her way
There’s home as an option to get her on track;
I will be there waiting to welcome her back.

Passion Flower | Full Bloom Project

She looked in the mirror,
what did she see?
A woman that's happy,
peaceful and free.

For the first time in her life,
she felt in total control.
Knew she could reach,
any passionate goal.

She did not forget,
the path that she took.
With ups and downs,
like any good book.

She nodded and smiled,
as she found her own light.
Her eyes were wide open,
with acknowledging delight.

Those around her,
repeatedly asked how.
Her answer was simply,
about acting right now.

She wasn't competing,
but was rather unique.
Adventures in life,
she'd continue to seek.

Full Bloom

Everyone is an artist. Somewhere deep down, in someway, there is an art form for everyone. Whether it be photography, painting, fashion, dance, writing, makeup, music… or maybe something a little more obscure that people often don’t look at as art; architecture, interior design, even video game design! Whatever it may be, it all works as an outlet for each individual's soul.

When coming up with a concept for a photo shoot with her Senior Reps, Luba wanted to give her girls the freedom to create something on their own. She wanted them to take the guidelines she gave them, yet push the boundaries; think outside of the box, and dive in with a heart of creativity.

She asked her girls to each bring flowers to the photo shoot that they felt best represented who they were as an individual. By doing this experiment, Luba was hoping the girls would go through a process of self-discovery, as they would carefully be selecting flowers while keeping in mind that everything including the color, the species, the shape and size would all be a reflection of their personalty and character. She wanted them to see themselves in a different light; to see themselves for who they believe they are, and not what society tells them they are.

Luba found herself in awe of the results from doing this project, “… this project showed me that each girl values purity and innocence because every girl basically brought in white and stated specifically that that was the intent for the color. What I hope that these girls will walk away with from this project is the understanding that even though each one of them is different, all of them still value and believe that purity and innocence is an important part of their character. Which to me was a beautiful thing to witness as I photographed each girl.”

Through this process, the girls were empowered to be who they truly are. They chose to be vulnerable and to express themselves artistically. In every picture, each girl looks so beautiful in her own unique way. I urge you to take the time to look through these portraits, can you sense their personality? Do you see the raw and wonderful vulnerability each girl shows? This is the kind of light that every girl should be able to see herself in. Wrapped in beauty and self love, rather than the condescending voices of the world. We hope that this project has inspired the girls to start seeing themselves for who they truly are, pure, innocent, bold, confident, soft spoken, whatever it may be, just as we hope it inspires you, the readers, to reflect on who you truly are, versus what the world has forced you to believe. Who are you truly? What would being vulnerable look like for you? What flower represents who you are?

Class of 2018 | LKP Senior Models

(we are missing one girl from our little family dinner that we had (Niharika))

(we are missing one girl from our little family dinner that we had (Niharika))

Every year when I add a new group of senior models to my team and watch my other senior models get ready for graduation I always have this moment of reflection. There's a change in the air and a shift in how everything feels, it's definitely a very bittersweet moment.

I am so excited for my new senior model team of 2018 and to see their passions and dreams come to life. However,  I'm also so sad to let go of my 2017 girls, knowing that some of them will be states away and we won't be able to have dinner together and share each other's company.
I can't wait to see where my 2017 girls end up and the women that they become. But I'm also so beyond thrilled to have my 2018 girls on the team.

As I slowly introduce the 2018 LKP Senior Models, the most important thing that I want you all to understand is that these girls are not just here to be in front of my camera, they joined the team to be a part of something bigger than that. They are here to be a part of a community who love and respect one another and lift each other up in hard times. To be vulnerable and share their own heart so others could be encouraged and inspired. To take their weaknesses and draw strength from them so when they go out into the world they can be leaders amongst a sea of followers.

So get ready because for the next couple of weeks I'll introduce each of my senior models!

Taylor, our forth senior model, is wearing the perfect causal, cool, and witty look. Why not throw in a graphic tee with that to makes a statement? #TheFutureIsFemaleare we right? This look is paired with Levi cutoffs and a simple, chic, blazer to tie it all together. Shorts are great for a senior photos in the summer but only if styled correctly. A good rule is high (neckline on top), short (shorts or skirt on the bottom) or lower neckline (full length pants or long hemline). We just want to make sure you look the most flattering on your day! This look is finished with a pair of Nike sneakers which is always a solid default when choosing a pair of shoes for almost any outfit. Celina, my third gorgeous senior model, is wearing a great, simple outfit that can easily be dressed up or down and screams city gal. Ripped denim paired with a long chambray shirt is a combo that you can’t really beat. Both items are giving off a denim feel...and we are loving it. Seriously, don’t be afraid to go denim on denim. This outfit is not only great because it is super cute, but it is so versatile and it lets her beautiful personality shine. Celina is wearing The Savvy Heart ring and statement necklace.

The Two Piece | Senior Photography

Senior Lookbook | Seattle WA

Alexa Wise is the second gorgeous senior model that I am sharing with you! Talk about stunning!! Alexa is styled wearing a two piece matching set topped with a long vest. Every senior needs one outfit that is a bit dressier than the others and this is a great example of that. No need for a super sparkly gown with heels to match, keeping it simple yet elegant is always a good option for that one more formal look. The matching set it a great go to because it's really all you need, forget putting another outfit together, it’s already done for you! Alexa is also wearing a fantastic The Savvy Heart bracelet to add a little more detail to the look.
