Here it is again, that same day of the year that reminds me of what has been and what is yet to come. I love it when my birthday comes! I know that might sound weird considering no one wants to get old, but for me its a beautiful reminder. I don't love my birthday for all the stuff that I could get, (although I have been reminding my husband that I love shiny things ;D ) but for the fact that God has given me another priceless year with my family and friends. Every year I take time to look back and reflect. Even though my life has had many mountains that I needed to overcome, every year has brought me wisdom and molded me into the person I'm meant to be.
As I was chugging along getting ready to turn 27, my beautiful mom turned 50. My mom and I have not had our pictures taken together since my wedding and even then it was a quick snap. So this year we went big. We scheduled our Glamour Session with the talented Nikki Closser and had the most amazing experience. Im a very simple person, a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal. So it was such a wonderful feeling getting all pampered and getting posed like I was going to be on the next issue of Vanity Fair. Nevertheless, the most beautiful moment was when we got to add in my beautiful daughter for a generational portrait. That one single portrait of my mom, me, and my daughter is the most priceless canvas that I have hanging in my home. One day I will be 50 and my daughter will hold that portrait in her hand and see my mothers legacy in her.
